Seven Days of Mindfulness Hacks

The sun is shining and I am lucky to be having a lie in! However I can hear the forced clip of hurrying heels and the tension in school bound voices. “Hurry up! We’ll be late!” So many people start their day stressed! From small children to school teachers, from street hustlers to company executives stress unites us all… And sadly, is slowly killing us all.

My friend and fabulous youth facilitator Kathy Elwand taught me the lyrics of a song: “What am I rushing towards? What am I rushing for? Slow down. Slow down and savour.” Great advice we could all take…

Hack 2

Give thanks. Stop whatever you are doing right now and take a deep belly breath. Take another one and one more. Then, give thanks sincerely for everything you can think of, from the fact that you can breathe to the food you will eat today. Consciously express gratitude for the people in your life, the clothes you wear. The job you have; that you can smile, that you can cry.

Give thanks for everything. Savour your day.
